YES, you can wear your BUFF® Neckwear

Clarifying ‘tubes and gaiters’ usage during COVID

The CDC recently made new recommendations for ‘tubes and neck gaiters’ compliance and we want to help make sense of it all. While you navigate the new season, we want to offer our support to help promote responsibility and well-being and inform outdoor enthusiasts on solutions and best practices while recreating around others.

Our community message to consumers, to keep them informed, since the start of this pandemic has been focused entirely on safety protocols, production information, and community awareness. As the category leader in multifunctional neckwear (tubes and neck gaiters) and outdoor accessories, we are encouraged to see that the CDC has recently evolved their guidelines as a helpful and educational resource to determine appropriate masks and mask usage. Within the CDC’s current overview, folding a single-layer gaiter to make two layers is an approved mask. We want to be sure our brand partners, as well as all users, are aware that our product provides a safe alternative. Additionally, our new collection of filtered products - the BUFF® Filter Tube and BUFF® Filter Mask - also offer an alternative that is compliant with CDC recommendations with our certified BUFF® Replacement Filters.

In the past several months in particular, we have worked diligently to innovate safe solutions, provide aid and resources for communities affected by COVID-19, and work with partners to drive accurate communications and information. In these dynamic and challenging times, we see our partnership with you as an extension of our mission to keep communities safe.

Community Statement on Face Coverings

As a team and as a brand, we are encouraged to see research rapidly and diligently developing around the novel COVID-19 virus. The more information the general public has, the better our chances are at protecting our communities. We at BUFF® realized consumers were turning to our products as a means for safety at the start of this global pandemic. Since that time, we have consistently communicated that BUFF® Multifunctional Headwear is not designed, nor clinically tested to prevent the transmission of diseases or viruses. As we worked to both inform users and respond to consumer interest during a time with so much unknown about the virus, we also began creating ways to provide aid and product solutions as a response to the crisis. Our new BUFF® Filter Mask and BUFF® Replacement Filter kits were developed as safe options for individuals in search of technically designed filtered facial coverings. A corporate alliance with UNICEF was also quickly formed to provide humanitarian aid for vulnerable global communities being disproportionately affected by the virus.

We have continually aimed to keep our consumers informed around the appropriate uses and technologies in our products and will continue to do so as information develops pertaining to safety practices and guidelines. Our brand mission has always been to protect consumers from harmful natural elements, and we see our new BUFF® Filter Mask and Replacement Filters as an extension of that goal. We hope the fit, function, and comfort of our filter mask encourages users to practice safe social distancing for the wellbeing of themselves and others.
